Batch Jewellery is the work of Taranaki jeweller Amy Gopperth, whose practice explores the beauty of imperfection, individuality and the unexpected.

Working from her rural studio, Amy creates one-of-a-kind jewellery using ancient techniques including lost-wax carving and sand casting. Rather than seeking perfect uniformity, she embraces the marks, irregularities and small surprises that emerge through the handmade process, allowing each piece to develop its own character.

Nature, place and a slower way of living have become increasingly important to Amy’s practice since returning to Aotearoa after many years in Australia. Her work is intuitive and tactile, with organic forms and raw, considered surfaces reflecting a connection to the natural world and the simple act of making by hand.

For Amy, jewellery carries more than its material value. It can hold memory, sentiment and connection; becoming something personal to the person who wears it. Each Batch piece is made with intention, using recycled and responsibly sourced materials and a deliberately small-scale approach to production.
